United Imaging Expands Manufacturing Footprint in Greater Houston

United Imaging, a global pioneer in advanced medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment, has announced a major expansion of its U.S. operations with a significant investment in additional production and office space in Pearland, Texas. The expansion more than triples the company’s manufacturing footprint compared to its current facility on Kirby Drive in Houston.

This move comes just four years after United Imaging opened its North American headquarters and manufacturing center, signaling a rapid growth trajectory fueled by rising demand across the country and beyond.

Accelerated Growth and Local Production

Since 2021, United Imaging has averaged an impressive 60% annual workforce growth in the U.S. It has also made major strides in domestic manufacturing, now producing systems across all four imaging modalities sold in the U.S., right from its Texas-based operations.

With the steadily spiking demand, manufacturing capacity has also come an increase in hiring,” said Jeffrey M. Bundy, PhD, CEO of United Imaging Healthcare North America.

In addition to increasing production, United Imaging has ensured fast service delivery with critical spare parts stored in Houston and in key stocking locations across the U.S.

Strategic Location for Global Reach

Pearland’s proximity to Houston’s major ports adds strategic value to United Imaging’s global logistics. As the company continues expanding its presence in South America, Canada, and 75+ countries worldwide, its Houston base is becoming a crucial hub in its global supply chain.

Earlier in 2024, United Imaging announced the installation of its 30,000th imaging system globally, with that milestone unit located in the U.S.
